Web based StumbleUpon, almost.

Stumble Upon Demo

StumbleUpon is a social networking site where you can randomly search through “gagillions” of user rated websites, images, and more. I personally love spending hours upon hours clicking the “Stumble” button and having it redirect me to a bunch of really cool new websites. I always learn a bunch of cool things and end up getting a bunch of cool stuff that I can share with you guys!

One of the things that I haven’t liked about StumbleUpon is that you have to use a toolbar they made that only works on Firefox and IE. This has always bothered me because I love Safari and hate having to switch over to Firefox every time I want to “Stumble” some websites. I’m sure a bunch of you guys have had the same problem if you are Mac users.

Well I was searching around for something that would work for Safari until I found it in browser based form! It looked like it is just a demo based on the url, but nonetheless it worked beautifully!

I was using it for a few minutes when a little message popped up saying “This is all we have for the demo, click here to sign up”, or something like that, and I went into a furious rage!! For about 5 minutes I was the happiest person in the world thinking that I finally was able to browse StumbleUpon via Safari. That fantasy was immediately shot down.

I actually planned on having this post detail my successes and excitement, but to my dismay I guess I wont be getting so lucky this time. Hopefully in the future they will actually come out with something that works for Safari. Better yet, if someone wants to make a lot of money, they should make their own StumbleUpon equivalent that works on all browsers!

StumbleUpon Demo <– There is is if you want to feel awesome for a few minutes until the demo runs out.

Now I’m just curious to see if there are any other options out there besides this piece of crap. If anyone knows of anything they should let me know.
